Tech tip for working with screenshots
If you find yourself opening a jumble of applications to work with screenshots, here's a tip from our Windows software maven: the snipping tool in Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 is easy to use and lets you add notes, save, or email in only one or two steps.
You can capture shots in several forms: free-form; rectangular; window; and full-screen. You can then edit the image with the use of the pen, highlighter, or eraser tool. And you can also save in various formats: as an HTML, PNG, GIF, or JPEG file. You can even email the image right from the snipping tool window. You can find this handy accessory by typing snipping tool in the Windows start menu search box. Instructions are available from the snipping tool window.
