Legal Fact Check
The American Bar Association is providing something of a public service with its new Legal Fact Check website, which debuted in mid-August with the goal of helping "the public find dependable answers to swirling and sometimes confusing" legal issues in the news. Topics covered so far include hate speech, pardons, and forced evacuations.

Moments we savor
Today, the library received a request from a court attorney in New York County (Manhattan). The attorney was seeking a New York Court of Appeals record & brief from 1931. We own a copy of it on microfiche, and were able to scan and deliver the document via email within an hour of receiving the request. The attorney was thrilled — she said she could not locate the document anywhere else.
We frequently get such requests from across the state (and beyond). We're thrilled when we can provide the document or information people have had difficulty tracking down.
N.B.: The library owns Records & Briefs for all four Appellate Division Departments and the Court of Appeals!
